Christina
Allen Book Signing
Saturday, October 30, 2010
11 am - 2 pmAbout
the author:
Christina lives in southern Maryland on a sustainable
homestead with her husband, Frank, two cats, extensive
gardens, 15 sheep, heritage chickens, and a flock of
critically endangered Jersey Buff Turkeys. Christina has
been a full-time professional artist for 30 years. She
received her BFA from the University of Rhode Island and her
M.A. T. from Rhode Island School of Design. She works daily
in her Corn Crib Studio.
About the book:
This is a delightful true story of one baby turkey poult and
his journey to adulthood. Heritage turkeys are endangered
livestock. These varieties of turkeys are wonderful parents.
Mothers often share raising all the babies together. Even
the dads will nurture the young poults by keeping them safe
and warm. They love people and make all their human visitors
laugh with their antics.
Christina has been a
professional artist for 30 years and lovingly illustrated
the book with beautiful watercolors of these remarkable
birds.
